ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: Vidya Pratishthan’s Someshwar English Medium School (VPSEMS) celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ on the occasion of ‘World Senior Citizen’s Day’.

Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, care and love, and are very special to every child.

In fact, they are considered the backbone of the Indian family system. To know their valuable place in our lives, the school celebrated this day.

The programme began with a traditional welcome and lighting of lamps by students of the pre-primary section. Dressed in traditional costumes, they welcomed all grandparents and presented dance performances to entertain them.

Grandparents also enjoyed participating in this programme by singing traditional songs and playing games. More than 200 grandparents attended the programme.

The programme was organised by the teachers of the pre-primary section, under the guidance of Principal Sachin Pathak. The anchoring of the programme was done by Rupali Kadam.
